It's a shame some of the most valuable, most intelligent, hard working, and skilled employees get passed over in favor of the bubbly, overly positive, bullshit artists who lack any skills other than social. I think social skills are important but that passion and hard work are more important. Who said life was fair though.

If you want to be a leader you need to be good with other people if you're not you can't be a leader of others. So it hase nothing to do with being fair ore unfair but who can produce the best results in his position...would you place a computer programmer with limited social skills ase the head of the sales team just because he hase more technical knowlege ?

Perhaps my perception of this video was different. I think he mentioned that “bubbly” personality is not always the case. There great positions for those who are hardworking, dedicated and skilled albeit upper management requires an additional skillset; one that is often a gift rather than learned. Having EQ is not the same as being sociable. I know many people who are social butterflies and extraverted, but do not possess the EQ required for leadership and vise versa.
