Wow!!! Im impressed and i'm Salvadoreaña too!! can I send my Pakistani husband to you so you can show him!! Hahahah I agree about the smacking of the Masa... That's what always seemed to get me frustrated ! My 2012 resolution was to cook more Salvi food. So my daughter doesn't grow up just eating Samosas and curry lol great video guero!!
Como salvadoreño digo que no está del todo bien el procedimiento, pero si le doy mi aprobación porque al final lo que importa es que logró hacer la pupusa.

@Bercola1 I would make the dough and the filling then set it aside until the day of. Once you're ready to cook it, put two and two together and cook it just before eating. As to your question of freezing, you can buy pupusas at most hispanic markets in the frozen section. Not sure if they're any good but clearly it can be done.

The masa does not have any oil or fat added, it's just maseca y water if you don't use any oil you wont get any crispy goodness on the pupusa. Maybe its a regional thing, anytime I have pupusas around my area at the many Salvadorian joints they always oil them up before throwing them on the grill. Yes the meat has fat/oil in it, but it's in the center, none of it will allow the outside to crisp up. Regardless thanks for the comments and thanks for watching!
