Digital Marlene

"Digital Marlene" is resurrected from one of her classic Holliwood still pictures.

The voice, the attitude, the timeless beauty: defining characteristics not only of a movie star, but of the entire era in which she lived. Jean Cocteau once said of Marlene Dietrich: "Whoever knows her has experienced perfection itself."

The "Digital Marlene" was created as an experimental project by a digital cloning studio.
Brought back to life using computer animation, she seduces us with her trademark cool and sophisticated style.

A sophisticated facial animation system was developed to mimic skin deformations driven by muscle groups.
The facial movements and lip sync were achieved through a combination of keyframe animation and motion capture.
The lighting emulates the trademak "film noir" look that made Marlene Dietrich famous. Film grain, flickering and jittering effects were also added.

She asks: "Want to know what really separates the men from the boys?"
"It's skill, and when I think about skill I think about Virtual Celebrity."
