While meandering my way across Florida I noticed several signs noting a weight restriction for this bridge. I decided to see why, I'm glad I did. Pivoting bridges are not too common, I was fortunate enough to catch it in action. Wish I had thought to ask if I could have joined him on the span. Enjoy!

  • We thank ya'll for sharing these pictures, videos, and history with everyone. This bridge is awesome! Plus, it has Special meaning to us. Our Great Uncle Clyde Summerall, Sr was tender on this bridge back in the 1950's. It wasn't electric back then he had to go out and turn it by hand. We got to ride on it one time. Later on he was the tender on the North Bridge at Barron Park. He's one of Berry & Alwildia Summerall boys. Thanks again everyone, Marvene Summerall Sullivan
