A clip of the 3mustaphas3 from a poor quality VHS recording of an arty programme called 'Alter Image', on UK's Channel 4 in 1988.
I last saw the Mustaphas at the Irish Centre in Leeds around 1991. Amazing -far better live and without the comedy video.

    I used to love these guys. A pity no-one has picked up on the fact they were doing 'Borat' stuff before even Borat was. Time for a 3 Mustaphas 3 renaissance ?

    Interesting... I reckon the Mustaphas were not remotely offensive in intent- (but if someone from the countries whose music and culture they express finds them so then it must be taken seriously). Borat, however, was racist, no question.

    Do you have any more clips from Alter Image? I'd forgotten all about it until I saw a Flying Lizards clip ("Then He Kissed Me") on Youtube, which inevitably brought me here... I think The Residents (& Ranaldo & The Loaf?) might've appeared on it also?

    Yes I still have my little diamond shaped enamel badge of theirs, and Globestyle T shirt, in fact I used to print them in the 80's still have screen even!
