The U.S.S. Enterprise crew takes on a Federation historian to investigates an ancient space station which has suddenly appeared in orbit of a planet that the crew has visited before. After they enter the space station, they soon realize that there is much more to the ancient complex than they expected.

This film entitled "Ptolemy Wept" was written, directed, animated and produced by Curt Danhauser and is the second new animated STAR TREK episode featuring Captain Kirk and his crew to be produced in more than three decades. The last new official animated STAR TREK episode was produced by Filmation and aired on NBC-TV Saturday morning, October 12, 1974. Now, after more than 35 years, new episodes are being produced. These new episodes are intended to be a direct continuation of the 22-episode animated STAR TREK series produced by Filmation Associates from 1973-1974.

Subsequent parts of this full-length animated episode will be released on youTube in the months to come.

  • Also, you should adapt the TAS comics posted on startrekanimated They're pretty good, and you could even play with the continuity a bit (and offer my help as such in that area, should you wish that).

  • @IamConnorMacLeod Thanks. I'm set for stories. I only animate stories that I write with the exception of stories by certain professionals who have written official Star Trek television episodes before. A half-hour animated episode takes upward of 18 months for me to create so I won't be devoting that kind of time to someone else's stories. I am most confortable with the timeline established by the canon Star Trek shows and all but the last movie.

  • I think it's a great idea! Just because the voices aren't original, they are still well done. Intriguing story too!

  • This is very cool see if you can get William Shatner to do the voice you may find he may be willing. Someone should make a Computer generated animation movie with the voice overs of the originals in the same style.

  • How did you do this?? It's amazing! The only thing I would change is the voices; some of them are too abstract from the original cast.

  • thes are so cool!! lol

  • Love it!

  • Well done sir, well done!

  • NCC-1717 why that's the Yorktown

  • I can do Kirk, Scotty, Sulu, Chekov, and McCoy indistinguishably from the original actors (and maybe Spock, too).

I worked in radio for two years, doing a spot called "Celebrity News Headlines: A New Concept in Radio." I stopped counting how many voices I did after I hit 70. My favorite bit was William Shatner reading the weather forecast.

Drop me a line if you're interested!

  • This is really tremendous on so many levels. Flint is spot on. Love the reuse of the "ambassador" costume from "Galileo Seven," and that Flint was Glenn Miller!!!

I was 10 years old in '73 and already enthralled by "Star Trek" when the animated series premiered. When NBC started promoting their new Saturday morning lineup that summer with a peek at a new "Star Trek" cartoon, I still recall vividly how my brother and I went totally bananas.

Thanks for bring it back to life!

  • Got to say, I like the characterisation of Flint!
