If the pronunciation is correct it doesn't matter the speed of a chant. Fortunately there are over 100 different styles of chanting and one is done so fast that all you hear is the last word and the style it's self is what gives that chant it's meaning.

Aia la o pele... too fast! When one chants too fast you loose the message of the mele - which is the most important thing for a kumu hula to remember!
