When I was a kid and the old Red Rocket streetcars were still in service, all the streetcar drivers would yell out (during rush hours) at this stop, "YONGE STREET---EXIT BY THE CENTRE DOORS!"
(Funny that, for in those days, streetcars did not have a centre door, but today they do!)
Of course in those days, the department store Eaton's, was still around in the Eaton Centre. My how times have changed. I remember seeing those small, pink TTC tickets for adults when a ride cost only .25 cents!
