@HeyNonyNonymous Let's not make the birth records thing about race - Arizona has a bill that requires presidential candidates release their birth records, starting in 2012. All presidential candidates, all races and political parties. An identical bill is in congress. Of course, they'll all be quashed - Obama is not about to release his birth records, ever.

The short version is good enough to get you a US passport. Did McCain release his birth certificate, long or short? Has any candidate ever done so in the past? Lets cut the BS, shall we? Why should Obama's citizenship be subjected to more scrutiny than any other candidate? You think his skin tone might be a little dark for some people?

If Obama release his long version of birth certificate those loons will only continue to argue that this one is a fake too. So why bother?

A Certificate of Live Birth is a legal document as far as the State Department is concerned. This is the document you are expected to produce when applying for a passport, for example. Obama's CoLB contains the signature of the doctor, the raised seal, and it was recently approved by the Hawaii health department as authentic. In addition to that, hospital employees of that time stepped forward and testified that they'd witnessed his birth.

He never has shown anyone his Birth Certificate, only a Certificate of Live Birth, which isn't a legal document. The problem with that was that he moved to the U.S. about at the time Hawaii reached statehood, so a lot of Birth Certificates were faked during that time. FactCheck's facsimile had a list of problems. A real CoLB would have the doctor's signature on it who performed the birth. There was only one doctor in the maternity ward that night, and he doesn't have record of 0bama.
