Thai Puppetry has been a part of Thai culture and tradition for hundreds of years. The first puppet performance was called "Hun Luang" otherwise known as Royal Puppet. Later, less than two hundred years ago that traditional Thai Small Puppets became open to the public and performed widely all around the country. It is unique because of its special lifelike characteristics.
This show excerpts from Ramayana, episode Hanuman captures Benchakaya. Hanuman, the poweful and courage white monkey god and great devotee of Ramayana was assigned to wage war between army of Ramayana and that of Dhossakan (Davana). Dhossakan, King of Lonka, obducted Sita, wife of Ramayana. Benchakaya, niece of Dhossakan, imitated herself as Sita and pretened to die, floating along a river. Hanuman later set imitated Sita on fire to prove she is the real Sita. Benchakaya was unable to stand fire and flew away. Hanuman then captured her.
Hanuman luego logra capturarla.
