If we wish to rekindle the flame of interest for good music in our new generations, it is imperative to give some form of new look to the old Indian songs belonging to the golden era of 50s, 60s or even 70s. This is how we can revive that period and preserve the cultural heritage of this part of the sub continent. The younger people must know how brilliant and dedicated were the lyric writers, composers and singers of that era. The great songs which were created by those legendary figures must be passed on to each other, played frequently and enjoyed together. Obviously the music industry and commercial organizations today will be interested in creating new music and nobody will care to promote old songs since there would be no commercial gains in doing so. It is therefore a task which has to be taken up by individuals who have a genuine love for music.
This beautiful song of Mukesh has been resung by Prof. Qasim Hasan Zaidi to commemorate the combined effort of great lyric writer Sahir Ludhiyanvi, Singer Mukesh and composer Roshan Lal who deserve credit for having recorded it for the film Dil Hi To Hai.
Great and beautiful presentation
