http://zennie2005.blogspot.com/2009/08/ferris-buellers-day-off-director-dies.... - http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/abraham/detail?blogid=95&entry_id=45082 - When I learned that John Hughes passed away, SFGate.com referred to one of his films "Sixteen Candles" and I thought: What?! Heck with that; the best John Hughes film ever was "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"! That is one of my top 10 movies of all time. "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" is tops in my movie collection and when I think of Chicago, my hometown, that's the movie I think of.

  • Hughes dying is very sad. Ferris Bueller is my favorite also.

  • Bravo! Zennie62! You said what ALOT of us feel... I remember seeing alot of JH films growing up in the 80's (jumping from one movie room theatre to another just to see the same movie over and over again).

And when I heard of his passing I was VERY sad like most... Thank you for your tribute.

  • I still have that movie memorized to this day...I watched it so many times.

    Hughes was a priceless filmmaker...

  • Life comes at you pretty fast................I consider Chicago my home town too.

  • John Hughes was, quite simply, a screenwriter and director of immmense perception, humor, and grace. He left us with so many memorable scenes and quotes in many different films...I was very saddened by his sudden death. Enjoy all his work, and remember who's responsible for bringing it to you, forever.

  • Cheers for that. I want to see it again, I saw it about four years ago with another 'kid of the 80s' - we know the film very well :)

  • @Redman9250 Wrong! The parade is so diverse, you must be color blind!

The parade (Twist N' Shout, in particular) represented ALL races. It seemed like every other cut was of a someone from a different race. I think the African-Americans represented in the parade infused alot of energy and fun into the montage!

  • Aww..thats really sad but this video is soooooo boring....

(i love Ferris Bueller's Day Off- saw it like 20 times)

  • GREAT movie

  • I agree but i also remember Planes, Trains and Automobiles
