Don't listen to the people telling you to buy a new one,cuz them people don't even know what they are talking about . but anyways just take the monitor apart and fix it yourself,and by doing that,you won't have to worry about buying a new one !

Just picked my vp2030b up from the shop. It was doing the same exact thing. Bad capacitors in the power section of the monitor.

my stupid monitor is samsung having resolution is 1440x900 at first when i bought this monitorit showed it resolution but after some time the monitor gives flickiring and now the resolution is also gone i have replaced my comp cable but still no hope i have a ge force 7600 gs what do i do plz tell me

try using a different cable or a different interface (vga or hdmi if it has it)

Imacs aren't a solution to problems like this.
Viewsonic monitors are inexpensive, and don't last long. If you did some research before you bought you'd know that.
I use viewsonics because they have the highest pixel/inch ratio that I could find.
Guy below is correct- blown capacitor. You can fix these things yourself if you know how to use a soldering iron.
dont bother trying to fix it or buy a new one because mine does the same thing... hp1502
and all i do is i put on a screen saver so you dont have to turn off your computer all you do is you make the screen saver on and you turn your energy saver off... unless it starts to blink when you use it for a specific amount of time. your s o l

Now useing my tv as a monitor, later this month getting a new 24" siemens monitor, never trusting viewsonic again!
