Journey's Dusk/Journey's Dawn

Take a Greyhound bus from New York City,
Ride it all the way to Los Angeles,
Make a stop in Chicago, and maybe in Denver,
Spend the night rolling fast as the breeze.

Catch the Stones on the stage, the surf at Point Reyes,
Stroll up Grant to the Chinatown gate,
Soak up the sun, California dreamin',
Know that life is always more than just fate.

Refrain
But it's a long flight home,
As you leave that warmth behind,
And the future still is blind,
Take my hand, you're never alone.

Go for dinner at Pete's, out Arcadia way,
Fix a ride with a ponytail guy,
Disneyland magic, the Matterhorn bobsleds,
Ride those tea cups as high as the sky.

As the sun starts to fade, watch the Main Street
parade,
When it's gone, time to call it a day,
Father and daughter, see the smiles in their eyes,
Feel the strength of their laughter and play.

Hike the chaparral hills, bake a blackberry pie,
Palo Alto, Santa Cruz, Half Moon Bay,
Steady your nerves, walk that log at Big Basin,
Grab the moment, it could soon slip away.

When the last evening comes, walk the lane side by
side,
Share your hearts and the fears that you face,
Take the chance, move in close, feel the pulse of the
moment,
Stand together in electric embrace.

Journey's end, airport bound, one last kiss, au revoir,
Turn and look through the solid glass wall,
Drop your bags, run back through, wipe your tears, find a smile,
Keep your faith in the promise to call.

Then the jet engines roar and the plane seeks the sky,
Racing almost as fast as your mind,
Sweet the days, soft the nights, is there more yet to come?
Are your lives now forever entwined?

Last refrain
It was a long flight home,
And you left that warmth behind,
But the future it was kind,
Hand in hand we're never alone,
Hand in hand we're never alone.
