Boring?? Lame?? Unfunny?? Are you guys deficient or something? This guy is arguing YOUR point, is fighting for YOUR rights. Because don't even try to tell me that you never ever downloaded or copied something from the internet you weren't supposed to. This guy that you call boring and lame has a very valid point. Learn to listen!
I agree his presentation is emotional more than professional it is wrong how he pitch. But if a decent idea like this dosen't worth to be anxious what else?.
by the way did you listen how he said "and in a democracy", I think that sums how he want see a peaceful positive change. for me I always say (angry person is a decent person specially in those days).
If user content of this sort is so great, then why are 99.9 percent of YouTube videos trash? Even most YT fans agree on most of it being poor when being honest.
I also notice that every example he used happened to be only vaguely funny mashups with little original content or value. The audience didn't even laugh at the first mashup.
Making great art takes a great effort. And quick mashups of other peoples' art isn't that kind of work. User content COULD be great. But so far, it just isn't.
