Yep, I've discovered I like alliterative titles...
This is another song "written" by the main vampire dude in that story I'm working on (the one who gets together with the character who wrote my song Haunted Dream). Chronologically (and in the order I wrote them), this comes before the song Twilit Lullaby. The main human/vampire couple haven't quite achieved their destined epic couple status at the time of this song, so this song is part what you could call the vampire dude having an allergic reaction of sorts to falling in love with a human, and it's part the history of my version of vampires.
The history part is just the first verse, but if you want to know more about it, search "darkness dusk star" (w/out the quotes, though it might work with them too) on d e v i a n t a r t dot c o m, where my username is BrushstrokesofFire (big surprise lol). In brief, my vampires are a mostly a separate race from humans, and they used to be Anwi (think Tolkien Elves with angel wings). They also used to live in a "faerieland" of sorts (like Elvenhome) in the west of their medieval-ish world, before they fled to ours. Yes, it's weird, I know. But it's my kind of weird, so that means it's wonderful. ;)
Here are the words.
In Ever-light, in silverwhite,
By swan's wing tall we charmed the night--
We dreamt in a distant universe,
The Faerieland we lost.
Before the sun, our days were done--
We bled where holy waters run:
Long ago we died to kill the curse,
To bear immortal frost.
Fallen wings and lips stained red--
We gave up the sky for blood...
Ebony
Eclipsed our gleaming silver--
A heart stone cold in a tower tomb...
Mystery
Where mortal sunsets wither--
Our midnight fantasy, our doom:
Crystallized in ageless ice,
The dreamlike starglow burns far away--
Through frozen glass, our sacrifice
To a strange world binds the darkly fay.
A bloodred stone, a silver cross--
Our Rose Lord drank the loss.
Sunshine
Sings you are mine!
Human child, come dance with me--
Entrance, and be my heartbeat!
Melt in starlight burning,
For thirst and love and yearning...
Butterfly
Escape to the sky!
Enamored of the twilight
Fly free before the dark night!
The ghostly Shadow haunted--
Fragrant spring, snow-white wing--
My fragile Dusk Star hunted...
You dare to give away
Thy dawnlit veins so soon--
Die to earth and live to prey
On blood beneath the moon?
Through city lights, on aether flights
Two worlds divide my unblinking nights:
Nocturnal scholar—a mortal shell--
My coven's shadow prince...
Your longing gaze on hunger preys,
To set my deathcold heart ablaze!
One day your sunlight sweetly fell--
I've thirsted ever since.
Protect the drum of dancing red!--
The music of your blood...
Summerdawn
Surprised the night of sorrow--
My age-old song needs no mortal bliss!
Days pass on
And darkness soon shall follow,
That drum to silence with a kiss...
Tell me why the rain-veils shine--
Elusive blessing caught in a dream:
Earthchild fair, shall your wings be mine?
Crimson fades where the white stars gleam.
Within my soul, two natures cross--
Your shining stains my loss.
Sunshine
Sings you are mine!
Human child, come dance with me--
Entrance, and be my heartbeat!
Melt in starlight burning,
For thirst and love and yearning...
Butterfly
Escape to the sky!
Enamored of the twilight
Fly free before the dark night!
The ghostly Shadow haunted--
Fragrant spring, snow-white wing--
My fragile Dusk Star hunted...
You dare to give away
Thy dawnlit veins so soon--
Die to earth and live to prey
On blood beneath the moon?
Ice-crystal blossom by Midnight enraptured,
You shiver in star-silvered snow--
Rich liquid melody giddily captured
In beauty the Lost Fay Ones know.
Obsidian diamond,
Ebony butterfly--
Dusk-rose in ever-night dreaming...
Your eyes uplift to the end--
Wish whispered with a sigh:
Hasten for cold slumber gleaming,
Perfumed incense-red for me streaming...
Sunshine
Sings you are mine!
Human child, come dance with me--
Entrance, and be my heartbeat!
Melt in starlight burning,
For thirst and love and yearning...
Butterfly
Escape to the sky!
Enamored of the twilight
Fly free before the dark night!
The ghostly Shadow haunted--
Fragrant spring, snow-white wing--
My fragile Dusk Star hunted...
You dare to give away
Thy dawnlit veins so soon--
Die to earth and live to prey
On blood beneath the moon?

Just saw your drawing on deviant art, the villian and the saint, looks like a classical japanese woodblock carving, very cool. As for your singing and lyrics, equally as wonderful. I believe the ancients had a name for singers like you, Enchantress.
You put your heart into your videos, it is beautiful and wonderful, and has inspired me to do the same with my next one. Thank you, Miss McElrath, cool name, by the way.

Thank you--my last name's weird (pronounced "MACK--ull--wrath"), but I like it. 'Tis scottish. lol
I continued to be honored by your high opinion of my videos, and I'm glad I've inspired you. I'll have to watch your next one when it's up. Enchantress? That's one of the nicest compliments I've gotten all evening, me being the magic/fantasy-loving type. ;)

I'm glad you liked my drawing. It's fanart of young Iroh and Ozai, two brothers from Avatar: the Last Airbender. Ozai is the "main villain" I mentioned in the Lily and the Lightning (the comments, towards the end), who kind of inspired the song. His wife/banished princess is Ursa, and i have several songs from her point of view, or that involve their slightly twisted but wonderful (or so i think) love story. ^-^
