Wonderful footage of and insight into Majestic Prince, one of the most beautiful colts ever to hit a racetrack.

  • In addition I'd like to say Arts And Letters was a super horse. He and Majestic Prince were very close in talent, and if they could have competed thru the fall it would've been one for the ages.

  • Fine points, all. It would have been a legendary confrontation. Sad how many rivalries have been ended prematurely.

    Take care.

  • He truely is what his name implies!!

I mean look at him go, what movement!!! What poise, what majesty!

  • Well said. Majestic he was.

  • What a magnificent horse!

  • Absolutely. He really had it all! Take care.

  • The first TC series I watched, at 10 years old, was in 1969. Even as a kid, I was impressed by the muscularity of The Prince. The shoulders and chest on him are massive.

  • @tannenholzb I wonder what comments would we be posting now had Raise a Native and Danzig raised in TC,.two very unlucky horses, and the two of the best sires ever...

  • Don't you consider "KELSO" a horse of consequence? Many people do!

  • I've seen every racehorse of consequence since 1959 and saw Raise a Native's three races in New York--all of them in track record time. His last race was unbelievable--51/2 furlongs in 1:02.3 in hand. As far as he went, he was the greatest racehorse I ever saw. I include Graustark, Buckpasser, Dr. Fager, Hoist the Flag, Secretariat, Seattle Slew, Ruffian, Spectacular Bid, et. al. when I say that.

  • Raise A Native must have had some kind of mutant blood in his system. The amount of champions that came from his line is almost unbelievable. It's a shame that his career was cut short by injury. My uncle actually saw him run twice in 1962 at Belmont Park and still remembers it vividly to this day.

  • Thank you to whoever posted this. My horse is a grandson of Majestic Prince. Piper (my horse) is not a racer, but a phenomenal jumper. Majestic Prince produced many great athletes

  • I saw this horse in Santa Anita. Very striking looking - big beautiful chestnut. "Majestic" was a good choice of words.

  • Yes, those first two clips in this video says it all.

  • Bill Hartack (RIP) said Majestic Prince was the beat he ever rode.
