Wonderful!!!

@litmanovus I'm not a cellist either but I think this is a great interpretation, musically or technicaly.
-
I watch this whole thing everyday before I practice 3 hours to remind me what i'm trying to achieve. Thank you God of cello.
-
one of the musically most miserable interpretations on the web. period. (and I am not a cellist)
-
@YTM021807 I'm really glad you did, regardless. It's such a wonderful piece, and this, despite the "radio thing", is my favorite recording by far.
-
I play viola and I am learning this piece now and am going to play it for my jury, This will be a interesting journey

Terrible camera ange at 6:48. Other than that, this is awesome!

@Bullz4eva93 Both Rostropovich and Yo-Yo Ma have complete mastery. It is a matter of tempo or taste.
It is wonderful (thanks to YouTube) to be able to compare and appreciate both interpretations!

@s34n777 Rostropovich was an amazing player. I believe in this concerto, at the least from the versions I've heard from both cellists, I think Ma has a better emotional grasp on it. Rostropovich I think had a fantastic technical grasp on it, and really showed his complete mastery of the instrument through this concerto.

I am going to LEARN THIS CONCERTO.
His facial expressions are priceless. :)

@a51078788 Yes! and It reflects what happens when somebody is "freed" when he goes "beyond virtuosity". His joy of being in the ** CASALS Festival ** also contributes!

@ChucklezTM For a moment I thought of not uploading it because of the strange 'radio thing" ("spurious interference")
