  • in 2:02, what if black moves rook to b8?

  • Qxb8 Nxb8? Nxc7#

  • black played by computer made some dubious moves, but still, it was an interesting game, and I wanted to share it with you.

  • Hi - thanks for that. Nice game! Glad that the trap worked for you. All the best,

    Sean

  • It is worth to note that black move after 9. Nb5 can be e5, that ruins trap plans and forces white to more aggressive attack.

Today I tried to play this scenario in Chessmaster mobile phone game on skilled level, and finally checkmated black.

  • I think you mean 8.Nb5? If then ... e5 then Nxc7+ is completely winning for white. However, 7. ... e5 is strong for black, yes, but white does have good compensation for the material deficit. Nb5 and Qg3 are equally the best moves, white will have to play sharply though and make effective use of his lead in development.

  • If black play 5...Nc6, isn't white down a pawn without much to show for it?

  • Most of the people I play with this trap can't even get past Nb5.

  • if the rook moves to b8 the queen will get the rook. it's still a checkmate with the N to C7 because the N support to C7 will move to B8 eating the queen

  • I'm so confused can someone help me here what if after be3 black queen plays its real best move qe5? then after castles black bg4. instead of castle would white play pawn a3?

  • Nice video

  • what if black moves 6...Qe5?

  • at 1:10, instead of moving the bishop to threaten the queen, how about if black moves pawn to c6? This stops the horse from moving forward and ruins the whole trap. Can anyone explain what to do in this case?
