@666daedsidog That's a pretty inaccurate description of both Derren and Ian. Ian is a mainly a corporate magician and applied cold reading tutor and Derren is primarily a television magician. Both have dabbled in debunking psychics and the like but it is not the primary interest of either of them.
Everything's too simple looking (the folds, the cuts, etc.) for that to really happen. I mean he folds a square in half diagonally, then that in half and the cuts are through every piece. I don't get why he's looking around it when his cuts go through everything, every time, so what's the point in studying it? I'm sceptical. There has to be pregluing involved and a double layer of paper.
I'm skeptical about this as, first, he didn't open it up in the beginning to show it being ordinary. He just said it was. Secondly, the folds he did was quite ordinary, just a square folded diagonally, then halved. Also, his cuts were all the way through all the pieces and nothing intricate. Personally, it seems hokey. I'd like to see more, if he handed it out for examination or what.

at 1:34 you can see that there are sides in a 45 degree angle. then when he unfolds them the objects are just squares
