  • End this hypocracy of discrimination, it is OK the politicians to get high on Alcohol, which kills many people from disease and accidents, but we cannot have legal access to the one safe and benign alternative, that also cures or slows Parkinson and Alzheimer's disease, balances neurotransmitters, enhances life quality and extends a healthy lifetime! • He smoked pot outside a casino. I can only imagine the things going on inside the casino ....

  • THE COPS NEED TO BE REMINDED WHO SIGNES THERE PAY CHECKS,(STATE)!!! NOT federal

  • Bascially, it seems like a fail safe attempt to legalize. If Ammiano's bill doesn't work, then the people will vote. The vote of the people is always the final say, but if the initiative doesn't pass the ballot it won't reverse Ammiano's bill if that passes.

    Hope that makes sense.

  • @COMarijuana That's what I'm confused about. will there be TWO proposals to legalize marijuana? one going to voters and one going to Ahnold? 2254 is Ammiano's bill right? have you heard anything about what's going to happen with that?

  • Yes that is a different effort. At the end of last year there were a few different efforts going on in CA to legalize. It looks like you guys will be voting on legalizing in Nov., so make sure you are registered to vote.

  • @COMarijuana I really have no idea, it's only been the last year or so that I've gotten interested in the legalization movement in California.

so wait, are the 700K separate from Ammiano's bill?

  • I believe the only way it can be invalidated is if there were so many invalid signatures on the petition that the count falls under the needed number. Their site says they submitted 700,000 signatures, so I imagine they will be ok. This is a statue which requires 433,971 signatures to get on the ballot.

Didn't CA vote on a legalization initiative in the last election?

  • @COMarijuana lol, it says your last message was posted 16 hours ago! omg time warp. anyway, thanks for the info. "as long as the petition is validated" is there any chance it won't be validated or get voted down in some committee before it goes onto the ballot? is there any chance it won't get on the ballot?

  • @COMarijuana I completely agree, I want weed but also want to make sure the MM users get their medicine and don't get effected by my use. Do you know anything about AB 2254? Does it have a chance to pass the Health committee? or has it already? Do you know the next step for the bill? I heard something about a televised debate in late March but havn't got any concrete info on that. What have you heard?
