A Little Light Shed on 'Dark Knight' Film

The makers of 'The Dark Knight' have given a sneak peek of the next Batman movie. And the twisted sociopath known as The Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger, is said to play the ultimate bad guy in the film. (March 16)

Ledger's depiction of the Joker is quite possibly the first time anyone's ever really done it RIGHT. Most people think of the Joker as a "funny" crazy guy with a dark edge to him. But the Joker, as envisioned by Alan Moore or Michael Green or Ed Brubaker, isn't funny. He's simply *evil*, utterly insane, and completely irrational. Nicholson came close to getting it right- but he was still trying to be "funny". Ledger's portrayal, at least right now, looks spot on.

no one will ever play the joker again, heath left it off AMAZINGLY and i hope it stays that way.

but i think johnny depp would play an amazing riddler!

He was great as Joker. The cool thing was that he incorporated different versions of the character
