And debris scattered into apartment buildings -- This is some of the aftermath of a large tornado that moved through Chicago's southern suburbs Saturday evening. SOT: we kept watching then started to see the clouds start to spin, and then when we looked that way we saw some debris in the air. That's when we ran. Larry Chesnutt was outside when the storm struck. He ran inside and took shelter in his bathroom and didn't come out until the sound of the wind had died down.SOT: It looked like a war zone... Cars were broken, and my garage was knocked over. No one was hurt here, but residents were told they had to get out.SOT: we've had to evacuate the entire complex, it took the whole third floor off of the complex -- they're being evacuated to a high school. Nearby large trees were blown down, power in many areas was knocked out. Damage from the storm forced authorities to close down Interstate 57 -- as traffic backed up. The same weather system also brought deadly tornados in Wisconsin and heavy flooding in Indiana. ___ ___, The Associated Press.
