The quick embrace of his hug almost knocked me off of my feet. He pulled back. "How's it going?"
"Good... actually no it's not."
"What's wrong? Did someone hurt you?"
"No, I just want the truth," I was having a hard time trying to put it all together but I finally said. "Did you kill Tracey Briggs?" Every look of emotion flashed over his face but the one that seemed to outstand the others was hurt.
"Why would you think that?"
"I'm sorry it's just-"
"It's just what! You believe everyone else over me? Alex, I would never do something so horrible after what I've been through, why would I even try to wish pain upon anyone else? Answer that for me." The wave of guilt came rushing at me, he was right.
"I don't know." I uttered into my warm coat.
"Just because of what people think about me or whatever is going through their sick minds, I didn't kill Tracey Briggs. I just can't accept that you believed them over me. Like my opinion doesn't even matter. But let me ask you this, who do you trust now?"
"You.."
He stood there looking at me up and down. And with a low disconsolate tone he muttered. "I'll see you later." He gave me a kiss on the cheek but it felt like nothing. Id promise that I wouldn't hurt him but I broke it. I watched walk away from me every second I wanted him to turn back around. At least look at me to signal that everything really was okay, but as the seconds passed he didn't turn back. The feeling of animosity built up in me, I let everyone else's thoughts get to me and now Kiyo doesn't trust me. With a long sigh I walked up to the school steps and made my way to class. But something made me stop in my tracks. Robert was huddled in the corner.
I walked over to him and stooped down beside him. "Robert, what's wrong?"
He was silent but the quick rise and fall of his shoulders told me that something wasn't quite right. I touched his shoulder and he slowly raised his head, the first thing that shocked me was how Robert looked. His eyes were bloodshot and dark shadows underneath them.
"She's gone" Tears escaped his eyes.
"Who's gone?"
He began to tremble and looked in front of him. Natalie." He whispered. My body slumped and I grinned.
"Very funny Robert and the Academy Award goes to.."
"I'm not joking, I called her but she didn't pick up. What if something happened to her?"
"Nothing happened to her. Maybe she got sick or-"
"She's dead."
"She's not dead, Robert. Listen why don't you just come with me. I want to talk to you about something." He nodded and got up. I haven't realized until now how much I missed Robert. It was always very difficult having to walk down the hallway without talking to him. He was my friend and I never wanted anything like this to happen. The bell rang as we walked around the school, the only sound heard we our footsteps echoing in the hall. I began telling Robert about what happened at the movies and what Frank had told me the other day, it felt good to tell someone. Judging by the smile on his face when I hugged him; he knew immediately that everything was somewhat normal again. But it soon ended

The next morning at school was crowded not only with students but with news crews: KPTV Fox 12, KGW, and KATU. Yellow tape stretched across the wooded area, FBI and the local policemen surrounded the school grounds. The flashing lights of the ambulance driving through the misty fog made me feel sick it was a sign that someone was dead.. Right behind our school. Robert stood close to me as everything unfolded in front of us.
"Natalie, shes really dead." Robert screeched. No, no it can't be true, maybe their was someone else out there but the thought of someone being killed behind the school grounds terrified me even more. I felt him tugging on my shoulder; his legs were shaking uncontrollably.
"Robert, please stop. She's not dead." I searched around for Natalie all at the same time. Ms. Ketcher shouted over to different clusters of people telling them to head inside, but no one seemed to hear her. She went over to Mr. Freeman and whispered in his ear. I walked closer to them.
".Try to get everyone inside, a student has just been killed." The look on Mr. Freeman face transferred itself onto mine, I could no longer hear Robert's frantic pleas for solace. Everything in my body seemed to shut off all at once, she really was dead Natalie. A girl I had none for the longest time was no more and to think only a few days ago I wouldn't even talk to her. Mr. Freeman began pushing us all back into the school. No one knew exactly what happened but the thing that everyone knew was a student had just been found dead. I sat with Robert and everyone else. Seeing everyone I had not been able to talk to felt somewhat great but one person was missing.
"I just can't believe that Natalie is gone."

oh god..where the heck is Kiyo?? Its so obvious! Why cant Alex see that..Kiyo has a spell on her. With only a couple words he makes her believe the unbelievable..
