Cannon's Pub, Market Square, Castlebar, decorating with the Chieftains. Iconic building, oldest pub in Castlebar. Nothing added but time. Part of Castlebar's history.

  • v good music ,, i appreciate bagpipes

  • how long is it closed?i remember it bein open when i was a young lad,on me way up to caffolas for a bag of chips.

  • Paddys day my hole.its never open it has to open for one day a year to keep the its licence, for all anyone knows id say it could be open tomorrow and no one would know cause all they would have to do is unbolt the door and leave it closed.

  • Ya it opens paddys day

  • Someone told me once that Cannon's only opens one day per year. Anyone know if there's any truth in it? I've never seen it open!

  • Nice broadcast! Castlebar really could do with a nice traditional irish pub, with live irish music to awaken the Wests spirit. Cannons could be that Pub. Good Guinness, good music and good craic!

    Up Mayo!

  • Its a grand pub but eddie cannon is a long time gone and its time some one else served a pint there

  • is it still there??

  • Beautiful old pub, a stunning reminder of the past! Glad to see that the developers did not get their greedy hands on it, good to see that money is not always the priority!!!
