SO HERE WE GO: MARCUS LAMB MONEY FOR DAYSTAR TV & HIS OLD BUDDY MIKE MURDOCK -----the financing for Daystar Television (named ironically after God's title for the Devil (Satan) in the book of Isaiah: "Morning Star" -- or -- "Daystar") arose shortly following the safe robbery in roughly the same time period that Murdock claimed he had lost vast amounts of money --- claims ranging from the hundreds of thousands to the millions. Marcus Lamb was apparently taken under Murdock's wing (often appearing on television with Murdock as more-or-less a side-kick). This "mentorship" is sometimes titled by Mike Murdock as making someone into a "Protege." Ultimately, Marcus Lamb's role in modern Christian Television rose above Murdock's ----Indeed, Marcus Lamb ended up running his own TV station (now known as Daystar). NOTE: It is unclear what share of Daystar is actually controlled by Mike Murdock. It is also unclear what Mike Murdock may have collected in terms of insurance monies following the safe robbery. He currently makes no public statement as of this date to address the insurance issue. Nevertheless, Daystar has become an empire that appears to cater to a select core group of "Mike Murdock style fundraisers" who seem to share the common goal of extreme money collection, no oversight, no actual public benefit, and yet luxurious private life-styles to its elite. Sometimes those who become "Proteges" of Mike Murdock get less than flattering public titles such as "Mini-Murdocks" (One example of this would be Todd Coontz). Despite this -- The con of "God told me you need to give your money" still works.

PS: Other than a twisted version of Malachi 3:6, I challenge anyone to find a scripture out of the whole Bible that makes this painful sale-pitch even possible ---- It is a scam. I (Trey Smith) am more than qualified to tell you that. I titled my book "Thieves" for a reason... good reason.... and that's just the tip of the iceberg ----in my life story -- it gets a whole lot dirtier than that.




No promises ---- But, I have heard positive things about God.TV. I watched their Telethon and it appeared honest to me. It certainly had no where near the eerily grim vibe of Daystar's "Mike Murdocky" Share-a-Thon. You can generally observe the "heart" of a ministry by what it produces..... If a ministry only serves to make an evangelist a rock-star playboy .... then that might not be where you want to listen / give money to...... In fact, Mike Murdock may actually be the poster child of what NO ministry should ever do .... if you could call what he does a ministry and still keep a straight face. Good ministries require money -- but they produce things... and do not lay a wasteland of financial hardship into the lives of those who come to them for help.

Examples of successful ministries that do visibly produce positive things (whether you agree with all of their theology or not) ---- Ken Ham, Matthew Barnett, Joel Osteen .....even Jim Bakker appears to have some eye-opening integrity these days.......etc.etc.etc...there are many, many of them --- They just don't yell and scream as loud. And, just as important as these "big" names are the local grassroots pastors right in your community..... I would suggest supporting a local pastor before helping Mike Murdock get another jet plane any day of the week. ----

PS: I for one personally wish we had another John G. Lake ---- But those are just my opinions, I could be wrong.... Trey Smith-
