Ex-professional drummer (Shadows of Knight, Sam the Sham), playing again after 20 years off. This is a practice video made three years ago with a cellphone, so cut me some slack. I just got the Roland set, and I had been playing them for two weeks.

  • Don't care much for the sound quality, especially the bass, but hey, that's not the player.

Overall that's pretty damn impressive. Sounds like you still play a gig a couple of times a week. Great stuff man.

  • I agree about the sound. It was just a practice recording, and I used the crappy mike in the camera. At some point, I'll do a real recording. Keep slapping that bass...

  • ...long ago and far away....the Shaft....

    good job!!!

  • You know The Shaft? Who is this?? Jimmy?? Walter? Inquiring minds want to know...

  • That was great! Doesn't look like any "ex pro" that I've heard! Looks like a pro to me!

    I wonder if we're related? I'm a Scarpelli too!

  • I'm from Chicago, where there are a lot of Scarpellis. Most are car salesman and gangsters. A few of us are musicians. There are also a lot of Scarpellis in New York and New Jersey. Thanks for the nice words, my distant relative!

  • ...I do not use "real" name, out here...was roadie for flash & hung with Fred @ nerve center...No idea where Jim & Walter could be....Good to know you're around and still kickin traps!

  • Figures, because I actually have some family that lives in Chicago! And, when my family first came from Italy, they came to New York. Now most of them live in Spokane, WA. So yes, hello my distant relative! Haha.
