Jim Riley Drum Talk Festival 2010

Jim is the drummer and bandleader for multi-platinum group, Rascal Flatts. Over the last decade, he has played hundreds of sold out shows for millions of fans. In 2009 Jim was voted best drum clinician by the readers of Modern Drummer as well as best country drummer for the last two years by the readers of DRUM! Magazine His recent television credits include The Grammy Awards, The Tonight Show, The American Music Awards, American Idol, Dancing with the stars, Oprah, and The Today Show. Jims recent recording credits include Rascal Flatts multi-platinum disc, Me and My Gang, Brian McKnights album, Ten as well as a track on the Hannah Montana movie soundtrack.

Jim attended University of North Texas where he received his degree in Music Education. In addition to being one of Nashvilles elite touring drummers, Jim has become internationally recognized as a clinician and educator. He is also a published composer, and a frequent educational columnist for Modern Drummer Magazine. His first book, Chart writing made easy: a play along guide to the Nashville number system (Hal Leonard Publications) is scheduled for release in July 2010. He is sponsored by Ludwig, Sabian, Remo, Gibraltar, Vater, and Shure.
