Play the classic street game of Three Card Monte just like it's played on the street. No crappy magic tricks. No fancy moves. Just a straight up swindle. Can you beat the grifter at his own game?

Note - this video is set up to reflect the real world. If you lose, its because you were not smart enough NOT because the video has been rigged in some way. So quit bitching and try again.

************
Three-card Monte, also known as the Three-card marney, Three-card trick, Three-Way, Three-card shuffle, Menage-a-card, Triplets, Follow the lady, Les Trois Perdants, Find the lady, Bonneteau or Follow the Bee is a confidence game in which the victim, or mark, is tricked into betting a sum of money, on the assumption that they can find the money card among three face-down playing cards.

In its full form, Three-card Monte is an example of a classic short con in which a shill pretends to conspire with the mark to cheat the dealer, while in fact conspiring with the dealer to cheat the mark.

This confidence trick was already in use by the turn of the 15th century, having a great deal in common with the shell game; they are the same except that cards are used instead of "shells"

  • its the left one...i think

  • First, I'm amazed that the romanian name for this "game" reached your ears. Can it be called cultural exchange?

I've also seen it done with three recipients from match boxes and a tiny sponge ball, wich was more difficult(and the fights between the con and conned more frequent) because the performer could move that ball from a place to another without even lift the recipients.

Best regards from Bucharest, wich once was the kingdom of Alba-Neagra

  • I first guessed the middle even though I'm sleepy and in love and I actually got it right.

Such a naive, but accurate guess regardless.

  • LEft!!!!

  • Loved it...!

  • very very cool....!

  • @Olorinii You lost because he switches the disc if you get it right. I randomly picked the middle one, because I realize that trying to actually guess isn't as useful, you have better chances doing it randomly, and I immediately saw the swap.

He puts the middle disc in top of the left (your left) disc and flips over the pile, showing the bottom of the left disc, not the middle disc. He then puts the left disc in the middle and the middle disc on the left, and shows the left side

  • Very good video. I know how the Monte works, have been practicing my throw for a couple of days, and I still lost!
