  • Gah! God damn you, I really REALLY miss having my SpaceORB, and this just makes it worse.

  • how much do they go for because I got mine for 50 cents.

  • Where do you get those connectors?

  • you sound like george ,ucas

  • I have done a similar thing with the Panther XL joystick turning it into a joystick and trackball that outputs as a keyboard and mouse. I opted for stand alone hardware designed for the XL to replace existing joyport guts. Not emulating keyboard and mouse, the trackball uses a MX518 to turn the trackball into a pointing device and the joystick outputs as a USB Keyboard. Out of the box the unit plays any game any os no setup. A lot more expense and effort to make a SpaceOrb work than the PXL

  • Why is the arduino needed? Couldn't you use software to adapt it? Or would that introduce latency?

  • Can you do a decent gameplay video? If your claims are true and you believe it can perform better than a mouse I'm certainly interested in reviving this relic, perhaps even reproducing something new and up to date. The question is, does it play well?

  • I don't think it's better than a keyboard & mouse in terms of gameplay.

It was on descent & quake beacause it was almost only keyboard gameplay at these years.

Maybe it is better in terms of immersion...

  • You should get yourself a head-mounted camera. :)

  • That's awesome... How does the controller actually compare to a keyboard and mouse in terms of gameplay? Is this something worth pursuing for those of us that don't already have a SpaceOrb 360?
