Volvo T5 vs Golf 5 Gti DSG

This is how it went with the runs:
1st Gear the T5 pulls ahead, by the time I change gear the DSG already covers that gap, stick side by side by 2nd. When the T5 changes gear DSG gains half a car length in front eventually. Basically 1,2,3 its like ping pong, after that from 4th, well you can see. The video shows the GTI with a premature launch, not fair on his part this video cause he did give me beans 1,2,3. That DSG box is too easy to use for sprints especially with that launch control. Spot the cop with the radar gun in the island under the walk way. And hey yes I tried my best to change gears as fast as possible, holding the revs and all that shit with no change, whatever gap I get from 1st he covers it up evently till third gear. And yes I have a sixth sense for speed camera's or maybe I spotted his cop car in the bushes on the left, see if you can spot it before you spot him.

Volvo's are awsome, u pull up at the lights in a Volvo T5 and the boy racer in his golf revs his engine and u just plank the foot and leave him for dust, you just dont see it coming, Volvos most underrated car out there people,

i got a s40 t4, the car has alot of potential. got an automatic gearbox though, anybody have some suggestions as to how i can get more power without modifying too much??? thanks

Just wanna point out aswell that when i mentioned the M3, M5, S60R, audi S4 etc below, im not saying VOLVO is better... Im just using these as examples to show what i mean about the Volvo S40 being in its 'place'

You cant have the 'baby' volvo out performing the bigger models... think about it. Its like BMW ... they cant make an M3 be quicker than an M5 as standard, because it would defeat the point of buying an M5.

The S40 T5 is made to compete with cars like the Golf GTi etc. If it has more bhp then insurance would be silly, fuel would be worse, and it would be more like an audi S4.. which Volvo have got the S60R as an answer to that.

I think its funny every one arguing about Volvo & Ford saying ford use the T5... then some one says no, ford use the 2.5T, etc. And people saying that the S40 T5 isnt a ''real'' T5 cos its only 220bhp not 260bhp....

The way it is, is .... The volvo S40 T5 & Ford Focus ST use the SAME engine, and it is a proper T5. It is detuned to 220bhp because it is placed in a smaller car, with less weight to pull than an S60 etc.

yea i just did a lil power to weight ratio, and the s60t5 is better but not by much, what kind of transmission does it have? 5 speed? if so its prolly alot faster

well I guess I would have to say the

S60 T5 and not because I own one. The S80 is just too bulky you know what I mean? Its heavy. I know that my T5 is very fast from a roll. The start not so much becuase of the torque and boost limiter, but 2nd and 3rd gears are amazing.

yea i was wondering wht is actually faster, s60t5, s80t6, or s60r, i know from a launch s60r, but any roll, other two have all power to two wheels not 4, from my experience my s80t6 vs an 08 sti from about 40, i was only a car behind to around 80

The R has stronger and lighter internals, different softer, larger turbo, reversed intercooler piping and 2 intercoolers
