you can hit your leg with the horizontal wood sticking further than the mattress the wood should be flat vertically.

the wood sticking out from the bed is a bit dangerous you can hit it with your leg while trying to jump into the bed

Having tried to make a flat packed bed last night, I can safely say that you are a much better man for the job than me and my mum!
