If a song is in the key of A can I use both the A minor Blues scale and the A major blues scale?

if it's in A minor you should use the A minor blues scale... and the same with major
i do not really think that there is a song just in A

Any blues songs mix 3rd min and 3rd maj ... so you can really use both of them relating to what are you trying to "say" with the melody you play...

Typical X7 blues use Mixolydian, Major pentatonic, and Minor pentatonic.

Typical Xm blues uses Dorian, Aeolian, and Minor pentatonic.

No. "key of A" is only one part of the information you need to know about the song. You also need to figure out if it's major or minor and use the appropriate scale. Major scale over a composition in minor sounds awful, and vice versa.
