I'm so sorry to the Hurst family. My son at 16 on Jan 11,11 had a car wreck on an ice slick road & ended up with a broken femur & a permanent rod in his leg. His friend was also injured in the accident. Though he was following all laws not speeding he still hit a patch of black ice & into a tree. I am so thankful that they both survived. He is 17 now but I'm not sure if these laws were in effect then. I was not told of them then. But he does enjoy his load music & I will b having a talk about t
The Hurst's loss is tragic. Even more tragic is Alabama's joke of a graduated driver's license. This is one of the weakest graduated licenses in the country, and is completely ignored and unenforced. Hell, even the parents admitted that they, their children, and the other parents knew nothing about it. But what do you want from the "don't nobody tell ME what I can and can not do" state.
Thank you to the Hurst family for putting this video together, sharing your deeply personal story, and helping to keep other kids safe. I am a Hoover mom, and my oldest child is about to turn 15, and I want to keep him safe on the road. He actually just lost a classmate to a car accident recently. That together with Natalie's story is making me more vigilant about the driving rules in this house. Thank you for raising awareness.
