  • I think old fashioned parents like my mother took advantage of this sacrement. EX: "Alright, who did this! who did this." I think overbearing parents have been a turn off to religious participation.

  • I like the intro and the bloopers.

  • Thanks Jennifer and Greg. Your apostolate is wonderful, and is good to promote the faith. I also appreciate the Scriptural Rosary Mysteries via the Rosary Army podcasts, which I play to each day.

  • Read [20] When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

[21] Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you." [22] And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, "Receive the Holy Spirit.

[23] If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained." [24] John 20:20-24.

  • Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone his sins, they are forgiven; if you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven."

    John 20,21-23

The Catholic Church gave you the Bible...

  • Jesus said to his apostles, "Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained."

    John 20:23

I squirm at confession but it is scriptural, and it is a good thing to do for one's soul.

    :)

  • Sure it does Kara

    John 20:23

    Matt. 9:8

    Matt. 18:18

    Luke 5:24

And there are many more passages that the Catholics can site as a scriptural foundation for confession. But this is a very long discussion and we can go into it later if you like.

  • A priest just goes to another priest for confession sonce they all have the ability to do so. An example is the Pope confesses to a fellow Bishop.
