I have noticed that there aren't many "Trekies" commenting on this video with all the negativity about the new moviel

Yeah it's called satire. They know it was really made in the 60's, they are being sarcastic.

very good movie, not always can it be exactly like the original, it helps to have an open mind and realize its a hope for a better future. i love the old star trek most but when TNG came out i didn't watch it for the first couple years, i was upset it wasn't exactly like the old I soon realized it was just as good as TOS, you just have to try to be open.

After seeing the movie, i thought it was a very good movie in almost all aspects, the acting was great the story was good and the effects were superb. However despite this, and like you, i felt that the movie wasn't star trek. I'm not saying that it should have been like what this video was suggesting but the while alternate timeline through out almost 40 years of star trek that ive grown to know and love. I just kinda find that a bit hard to except : /

The old series rocked, this movie rocked & all the movies (except V, VIII) rocked. Or soemthing like that. I cant remember which movie it was that sucked. Anyways, ST in general rocks!
