Personally, I think they should have stuck with one type of regeneration back when they first made the show, However since they chose to change each time, I think Moffat should respect that and make the eleventh change differently from ten. And before people start saying that ten regenerated like nine, he didn't. Nines was bright orange and quick, ten's was dull to pale yellow and long. Great effects, btw.

Some sources also state that the first regeneration was when the Doctor grew his second heart, apparently his first incarnation only had one heart.

this one is a very subtle regeneration, but like, say the 10th doctor regeneration is more violent. this one is like a gold ooze-ey smoke, and the 10th one is like BAM! new doctor.

my only thing as a fan is you used the 2nd outfit once he had already picked his look. The 2nd Doctor should've been wearing the first's outfit once regenerated.

@dalekidea Well, it all depends what software you have to hand. I used a particle fx to create this. Are you working on a Regeneration scene? Send me a PM let me know.

Nicely done. But two points.
Neck a tad too long and if I remember right the orange light comes out of the collar and doesn't obscure the clothing?

I made the orange light obscure the clothing, as the clothing regenerates as well in this version, as it did originaly in this first regeneration broadcast.
