This obscure romantic ballad, Let's Get Lost, written by Jimmy McHugh and Frank Loesser for the 1943 film, Happy Go Lucky, first appeared on the1960 album by Joni James, 100 Strings & Joni: I'm in the Mood for Love (The Songs of Jimmie McHugh). The song is available on CD as a bonus track on the 100 Strings & Joni album released on the Collector's Choice label.
Breathtaking arrangments and sublime sea of orchestral sound. She's my mum's favourite singer. I didn't see what's so unique about her voice when I was young. But it grows on me. Now I love her crystal clear voice, phrasing and perfect pitch...you can hear every single word she sings. The orchestral backings here are most extraordinary. I love all her 100 strings & Joni albums. Thank you for sharing.

Yes, I would agreed that the song is indeed obscure. But also I must say it's quite lovely....made more so by the voice of the angelic Ms James! Can't thank you enough for sharing this delightful gem with us!!! :)

This song or its tune is in the soundtrack of a T.V. report about WW2 made by Ken Burns, right ?

Everything about this recording is magnificent Joni's singing, the orchestra,
the arrangement and the song itself.
One of my favorites.
