This is just to show everyone where Legazpi City is located in relation to Mayon Volcano's location. This footage will also give you an idea which populated areas are close to the base of the volcano.

'Big Bang feared..."
===============
Mayon is still under alert level 3. Volcanologists fear that 'lava domes' are growing at the crater of the volcano.

"Where there's smoke, there's fire!"
==============================
I'm guessing that someone is still out there as evidenced by white smoke. How I wish I'm wrong but I think I've seen 2 smoke-y spots just close to the base. PHIVOLCS recommends that the 6-km permanent danger zone and 8-km extended danger zones 'should be free from human activity because of sudden explosions that may generate hazardous volcanic flows.'

A Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 compact digital camera was used to film this clip at Imperial Rosmont, barangay Stanza, Legazpi City on December 17, 2009 4:39PM.

Anyone from Legazpi City would recognize the landmarks I mentioned: Lingñon Hill, Airport runway, Albay Astrodome. The white pillars of Albay Capitol and the belfry of Albay Cathedral are also easily identifiable.

I have also indicated my place. That is where I filmed these 2 lava-spurting videos of Mayon:

So, Legazpi city-proper is geographically closer to Mayon Volcano than where I live!

I tried my best to give you a nice view of the place and the terrain of Mayon volcano from this vantage point but it was cloudy a while ago so there is not much to see of the volcano. Pardon also for some frames were the camera was focus-hunting at 10x optical zoom. I'm still happy though that overall, I believe I was able to present a somewhat clear landscape even with the subjects very far from me. Check the photo below.

Here is a still photo of Mayon Volcano and Legazpi City viewed from Imperial Rosmont Subd, Stanza
