Love is so misunderstood in so many ways.....I believe their's was genuine. The media was and is still to this day out for the coin. Part and parcel of living in the limelight I suppose but jeez....how can they all be so heartless? They loved each other. That deserves a little respect in my mind.

Lyrics are not correct. John is clearly saying news people, not newspapers. He is referring to the news reporters.
