Your right, the music is between both movies is very simular. I think the Salem's Lot sound crew knew good background music when they heard it!

@stanssoapbox yep it was the cross over from fantasy to reality that made this creepy..saw this as a 11 y/o with my grandparents with a takeaway after a saturday night at the local pub..always ended up in my grandparents bed!!..lol..

I like the modern twist on the old Hammer films when this film suddenly takes the situation out of the gothic fantasy and into a real situation when the Policed turn up to witness the heroic vampire hunter in the act of apparently murdering someone.

I loved this late night cult TV series as a teenager but I never knew about this pilot made for tv movie. As a fan of the British Hammer horror movies I can see that this movie climax is clearly based on the early Dracula movies with the Peter Cushing vs Christopher Lee final battles. The only difference was they mostly took place in a church and Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) had no one to come to his rescue.

This scared the hell out of me has a toddler. This is how vampire movies should be made. Twilight has made the vampire sappy, and able too go out into the sun. ect.
