LDS Young Women Choir from East Millcreek, Cottonwood, and Olympus Stakes in Utah singing "True to the Faith" at the General Young Women Meeting of the 179th Annual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints held at the Conference Center in Salt Lake City, Utah in April 2009.

"True to the Faith" Hymn #254

1. Shall the youth of Zion falter
In defending truth and right?
While the enemy assaileth,
Shall we shrink or shun the fight? No!

[Chorus]
True to the faith that our parents have cherished,
True to the truth for which martyrs have perished,
To Gods command,
Soul, heart, and hand,
Faithful and true we will ever stand.

2. While we know the powrs of darkness
Seek to thwart the work of God,
Shall the children of the promise
Cease to grasp the iron rod? No!

3. We will work out our salvation;
We will cleave unto the truth;
We will watch and pray and labor
With the fervent zeal of youth. Yes!

4. We will strive to be found worthy
Of the kingdom of our Lord,
With the faithful ones redeemed
Who have loved and kept his word. Yes!

  • I sang this in Sacrament Meeting and Playing it for Priesthood Meeting next week.

  • @Woodman323 Excellent.

  • i was there haha it was so cool

  • So sad. Reminds me of 1984. (the book)

They might as well be singing in burkhas, no religion truly gives women equal treatment and rights.

  • @appleguy77 You could not be more wrong. Mormon women appear to be some of the most free women on earth (esp. if they are American) -- if they have chosen to live a virtuous life, like many of them have, they are free from sexual sin and all its physical and mental consequences, they are free from the psychological devastation that comes from choosing abortion, they are free from marriages to drunkards and smokers if they have married active Mormon men. I could go on and on, my friend.

  • I love Mormons women!

    They don't have HERPES!

  • What Mormons preach is defenitely not "the truth for which the martyrs have perished"!

  • AdLucum..

theres no need for that type of comment... If you want to know about these beautiful young women.. seek and find out... comments like that will not help you understand why they live the way they live...

May the Lord comfort you in you times of trials our saints have been through worse hence the reason we are members of the THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST OF LATTERDAY SAINTS...

  • @appleguy77 Troll is trolling, you seem to fail (very hard). Why not go insult scientologists? They're even more easily enraged. You, sir, are ridiculous. I love being mormon, I am NOT told what to think, and if I (note: I not someone else) really want to do something, I do it. You are wasting your time, attempting to pull us away from a faith that I know many of us love dearly.

Also, you left the best thing that has happened to you in a long time.

  • "True to the truth for which martyrs have perished"

This is one reason I get upset when people criticize the church. People have died to believe in Jesus and God, and even more have died in believe of the Book of Mormon, yet those who believe nothing and never will, see as though they are welcome to speak in reference to the church.

Unless you have felt the absolute joy I have to be a member of this church, you are not welcome to criticize me or my beliefs.

  • I am so fuckin baked.
