@ManhwaFan Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower. Eric Clapton - I Shot The Sheriff. Molly Hatchet - Dreams. Pretty much all early Zeppelin. I Fought The Law - The Clash. Elvis Presley - Blue Suede Shoes. All covers of the originals. I could keep going as there are countless examples - but the point is that you don't think these people made any money from doing these songs?

@metaldaniel03 The guy from Alien Ant Farm addressed this in an interview once---"We went to Michael Jackson and said we're gonna do Smooth Criminal and he said OK, here's how much you're gonna pay me." Parody is considered fair use (which is why Weird Al Yankovic and MAD Magazine are able to exist) but you can't just direct rip off someone else's copyright. Hope you've got a good lawyer because even getting a case like that dismissed can be expensive.

@SimuLord You can acquire something called a "mechanical license" from companies such as the Harry Fox Agency or Limelight. The writer or copyright holder is then paid the flat mechanical rate of about 9 cents per song when a song they own is sold. Can you work out a deal with the owner of a song? Sure, but that's not the law and it's not required for them to approve a cover song. I appreciate your concern for me but I am doing it the legal way.
