'As mesmerisingly beautiful an iPad app as you could ever hope to see. Full of innovative but intuitive ways to navigate, this is like the most beautiful, informative and deliciously lovely guide to bicycle design as you can imagine. And if you think that bicycles are a rather humble, banal and uninteresting field of industrial design this will make you think again. Stunning.'
- STEPHEN FRY

Apple's iPad App of the Week (UK) and featured in iTunes New and Noteworthy Apps.

An interactive collection of 100 bikes that have changed cycling history. From the suitcase-sized Skoot to the Gold-medal-winning Lotus Sport 110, from Tour de France road-bike classics to moving designs of breathtaking innovation, each bicycle is displayed in stunning clarity and technical detail. Users can spin every bike 360º and zoom into details up to 20x magnification to appreciate every component in this rich celebration of cycling culture and design.

Each bike is shown with an informative text that recounts its unique and fascinating story and multiple gallery-quality photographs, and in many instances also includes video clips, original brochures, contemporary advertising, engineering drawings, rare illustrations and links to manufactures' sites.

CYCLEPEDIA for iPad features:

• Ability to organize and browse bikes by: year of manufacturer, style of bike, make and name, country of origin, frame material, and weight

• 360-degree finger-controlled rotation of 100 bikes

• 2000% zoomable image of each bike

• Swipeable animations of 23 fold-up bikes

• 10 minutes of rare and unusual archival video

• 150 pages of original brochures, user manuals, plans, catalogues and contemporary stills

Additional photographs from the collection of award winning photographer Bernhard Angerer.

Hi, thanks for the question. I've had a look through the app and although there are none of the bikes you mentioned, there is a Hase Spezialrader Pino Tour, a modern recumbent tandem system from Germany, and a Sironval Sportplex, a solo recumbent built in Paris in 1939 but kept in storage, away from the bombs during WW2. Hope that helps!

Thanks! Well, I've bought the app anyway, but you should really look at including some of the above, particularly velomobiles and the Varna Diablo as the world's fastest human powered vehicle. Have you read about ROAM? A bunch of velomobilers crossed the USA in 4 weeks. Yes, I know it's been done faster, but these guys were not athletes, and were doing a recreational tour, not a race. That's not possible on a normal bike as they simply aren't fast enough.

That sounds incredible! The bikes featured in the app are all from the collection of Michael Embacher, so it really depends on him, but maybe he'll see your comment here and give it some consideration. Thanks for the comments!

I'd love that Bob Jackson trike. Would go well with my Bob Jackson audax bike.
