Austin Explains His Vote For the Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act of 2011

Austin Scott (GA-08) today voted in favor of the Middle Class Tax Relief & Job Creation Act of 2011. This legislation includes important measures which would, among other things, put the plan for the Keystone Pipeline back in motion, includes the payroll tax cut, extends and reforms unemployment insurance and provides a two year Medicare payment solution for our doctors and seniors. In an unprecedented move, the Republican led House of Representatives has paid for the bill in its entirety. Upon passage, the bill moves to the Senate where Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) is expected to bring it up for a vote later this week. In an effort to further explain this multi-issue bill, Rep.
