I was raised thinking "Skinhead" meant ANY racist. My freshman year in highschool, i met a guy named Diego, who was skin/suede, and he taught me the truth, got me into real, good ska, and taught me so much.When i told my father about this, he immediately told me to stop talking to him, thinking Diego was a neo-Nazi.A year later, I'm sitting here, showing this video to my dad, with a brand new pair of DM's on and a freshly shaved head.I passed on what Diego taught me to my dad:Truth & Tollerance.

@mcxznbv Too right, we've got a fair few skinheads in the Scottish Anti-Fascist Alliance who join us on our marches to oppose racism and extreme right-wing politics. FYI anyone in Scotland who opposes fascism, a number of racist organisations will be marching through Glasgow on Saturday (25th Feb,) we will be there having a counter-demo starting on Buchannan St at 10:30 am, join us and we'll show them that Scoland has no place for their irrational hate.

Monkey Boots in Black, Brown, and Cherry Red are still available on places like Ebay too. Sometimes known as (Dockers) I also remember that Shirts other than Ben Sherman were on the market too. Jaytex and Skyline were doing the rounds then. Not as smart as Benny's but still looked ok and were slightly cheaper.

@1960gal I get my Royals or (Squires) as they are often called, direct from Loakes in Northampton. There are other sites that sell em and they are the real deal. Usually sell for around £120...£140... but it's money well spent and they really are the Dogs Bollocks..!! They aint changed the design at all in all these years and they are still prob the best pair of Brogues you will ever buy. Smart when polished. They are perfect with Levis or Trousers.

@ONLY1TOTTENHAM Tell us, where do you get your Brogues these day? I have looked everywhere on the netf for a pr for the Big Fella, but can only find some Loakes that are remotely like the originals. {I remember having a beautiful pr of cherry red boys loafers that I wore with a tonic skirt in 1979!)

Didn't do much fighting with other Skins tough. Just Greasers mainly. Saturdays were kept to having a go with other fans at the Lane. Good times though. Funny how we can talk about it together thesedays. Some things never leave you. Like how to dress for a casual day, then tog up in the Mohair Suits for the local Disco's in the evenings. Happy days. Wish they would come back but i'm just a sentimental old git at heart..!!!!!
