Veterinary Technicians at Cleveland Metroparks Zoo's Center for Zoological Medicine became foster parents to a young wallaby, appropriately named 'Foster,' in October. As part of his care, the joey stays in a specially heated hospital room, receives food imported from Australia and has access to a warm, furry papoose that serves as an artificial pouch.

  • Hi, I live in Tasmania and sadly there is alot of roadkill due to the ridiculous speed limits. I found a baby wallaby in its dead mothers pouch. It was hairless so I took it to the wildlife park and they took it in. I would like to raise them myself. Where can I buy the milk powder and do you have to put a hot water bottle under the pouch?

  • does anyone know how you go about becoming a zoo vet tech?
