Daisaku Shoji Ltd. exhibited the CAN-ARC one-touch automatic can opener, which has been a huge hit in Europe and the United States, at the Autumn 2008 Tokyo International Gift Show.
Until now, opening cans required a lot of strength and effort, and you usually end up getting your hands dirty. In addition, the lid that has been cut open is dangerous because of its sharp edges. The CAN-ARC automatic can opener overcomes these issues. Just place the unit on top of a can and push the button. The can opener then automatically travels around the can and opens the lid. Once the can is open, the can opener automatically stops, and the lid adheres to the can opener through magnetic force without dropping.
The CAN-ARC features a simple yet stylish design and fits perfectly in your hands. More and more cans with pull-top lids are appearing in the marketplace, but there are still lots of cans that don't feature the handy pull-top such as imported goods or high-grade canned goods. The CAN-ARC one-touch automatic can opener is the next generation in household appliances and is practical, fun to use, and well designed.

Too slow. Twenty seconds to open one can? No way I'd use that.
