Getting back to an earlier statement you made stating the the only negative thing people can say about the NOI is; the brutal killing of our beloved brother Malcolm. Murder and corruption was a large part of the day-to-day operation of the NOI during Elijah’s reign. Malcolm’s murder stood out because of his popularity. In 1971 an NOI member named James Shabazz who replaced Farrakhan was gunned down in the driveway of his home.

2 members of Muhammad’s temple #12, 1 an assistant minister were charged with the murder of a black drug kingpin who helped created dummy-businesses for the NOI’s drug operation. He was killed after the NOI no longer needed his assistance. In 1975 Elijah’s son Nathaniel, was arrested and charged with drug possession. Being involved in drugs was an undercover operation of the NOI.
