Bo Bartlett's extraordinary paintings document his experience of being alive in this world. He recently sent me a beautifully written and revealing letter about his life. With this he included some photographs from his days growing up in Georgia in the 1950's and 60's.
This film is my attempt to use Bo's own words and art to convey how I understand his life and the tragic and poetic sensibility he shares with us all.
very Hopper-like

I've always liked Bartlett's work, and this helps me understand my side of the experience... Hopper & Wyeth are also favs of mine and they too evoke something similar in me. Nice job to all involved!

There is more truth in art than in truth, thanks
and the words of the artist attest to that.
Thanks

Such a beautiful film. Just wonderfully soothing to watch--beautiful and evocative. What happened to the brother the film is dedicated to?
